The bicycle is the purest form of independent mobility

It requires no license, insurance, fuel, or complex maintenance. The autonomy it provides has profound value in an age where nearly every aspect of life is mediated by systems, platforms, and service providers.

The bike is yours, it responds only to you, it runs on your energy. It is humanized technology. Choosing a bike in a car-dominated world is an act of cultural resistance. For us, it is crucial to build a resilient movement, one that does not fizzle out after a short time or lose its political edge. This can only happen if we, and everyone who joins Critical Mass, take the time to inform ourselves about bicycle politics and actively share what we learn.
